X-Factor

One Direction was formed doing the x-factor in Great Brittain. Each of the 5 boys auditioned individually and was formed as a band at the end of the bootcamp, and their mentor was Simon Cowell. They ended up by being placed number 3.

Liveshow 1: Number 1's

Song: Viva La Vida - Coldplay

It was the first liveshow so everyone was nervous. Zayn had some problems because he kept on getting off time with the music, but it went well at the performance.
"It was amazing!" Zayn said to a backstagecamera. The boys were so happy that they got through and were really excited about next week.

Liveshow 2: Heros

Song: My Life Would Suck Without You - Kelly Clarkson

They had to choose a song from one of their heros. One direction took a Kelly Clarkson song, wich a lot of people thought was wierd. They probably chose her because she won 'American Idol'.
The boys had been sure they wouldn't get through, so it was a great relif when their neme was called out.

Liveshow 3: Secret weakness

Song: Nobody Knows - Pink

Actually, the boys chose another song, but with 1 day left Simon adviced them to take another one. It was a bit stressfull at first but they managed it!
The boys agreed with Simon om the new song and they thoughed it better as wanted to show that they could sing any kind of song.

Liveshow 4: Halloween

Song: Total Eclipse Of The Heart - Bonnie Tyler

"We got a chance to show our vokals." said Harry to a backstagecamera. All the boys were glad that Simon had picked such a popular song, as they thought it was an advantage that people at home knew the song.

Liveshow 5: American classics

song: Kids In America - Kim Wilde
This week Simon and the boys were talking about their ambitions about winning The X-factor. Simon thought that Kids in America would be the perfect song for the boys and that their version of it was so good at the rehearsals that it could become a hitsingle.
The boys loved singing the song and had so much fun doing it. They really enjoyed being surrounded by cheerleaders, even though it had caused a lot of trouble for The x-factor's stylists to create 35 cheerleader-costumes.

Liveshow 6: Elton John

Song: Something About The Way You Look Tonight - Elton John

the boys got a bit insecure when they heard that they were going to sing a song by Elton John because they didn't know his songs that well. They listend to a few songs and then they picked the little bit challenging Something About The Way You Look Tonight.
The boys were really happy about their performance: they were forced out of their comfortzone and that made them work the hardest ever.

Liveshow 7: Beatles

Song : All You Need Is Love - The Beatles
It was a quite complicated version with a lot of harmonies and other things that the boys did, but they did a quite good job.
Niall loved the perfomance and thought that it was their best so far.

Liveshow 8: Rock

Songs: Summer Of '69 - Bryan Adams
You Are So Beautiful - Joe Cocker

It was very stressful for all of the competitors, as this was the first time they were going to perform 2 songs, and they had to have a third if they got into 'the dangerzone' and 2 competitores would be eleminated.
The boys were really, really scared of ending up in the dangerzone. They worked 18 hours a day, and sometimes they where in the studio until 2 p.m. They deserved to go to the semifinal!

Liveshow 9: The Semifinal

Songs: Only Girl In The World - Rihanna
Chasing cars - Snow patrol

The final 5 had to sing 2 songs: a club-classic and a 'get me to the final'-song. They could choose whatever they fancied to gain votes. For One Direction this was the hardest week. Not just because of the 2 song, but because Zayn had to go home for a while: his granddad had died. The rest of the boys had to practis without him, but he got back in time for their performance.
The boys loved the reaction they got from the audience, and were happy that they took the risk of Only girl.

The final

The boys had been visiting all of their hometowns (exept for Nialls as they couldn't go to Ireland because of bad weather) and gave a few conserts. They also ate cristmas-dinner and practised a lot more than usual as they really wanted to win.

Saturday

Song: Your Song - Elton John

Saturday: Duets

She's The One - with Robbie Williams

Liam & Louis couldn't belive that they were going to sing with Robbie Williams as they're big fans of his. Robbie knew how it was to be in a band and it was clear that he wanted to stay in contact and help the band.

Sunday

Song: Torn - Natalie Imbruglia
